Happy Thanksgiving

Hey everyone just wanted to make a quick post to say Happy Thanksgiving. I also wanted to say I hope not you or any in your family have to work today, as I think that just sucks that fact that stores are now open on a day that your supposed to be with family and friends. I feel bad for where the future is going truthfully, what's it going to be like when we have kids and their our age will they even have the day off from school in 20 more years? Not to mention the stores completely skip over both Halloween and Thanksgiving and go right to Christmas that started maybe 4 or 5 years ago I think and it sickens me every year even more at least the malls still wait till Thanksgiving, or close to it, to have Santa there(I remember when I was younger he wasn't in the malls till AFTER Thanksgiving) I'm dreading the day that they change that and he's there at or right after Halloween. Black Friday also used to be JUST FRIDAY not this whole week BS.

I turning this into a rant I know so I'll stop ranting now.

Does anyone do Black "Friday" shopping, which is turning into Thursday night shopping. I miss having to wait for a store to open very early in the morning I'm not talking 6am I mean 3am through 5am even, now they either are opening Thursday night at whatever time or 6am, how special is a 6am opening to a lot of places that a regular store hours. Then again some places are still doing a midnight opening, guess that still nice. Crap I'm ranting again, sorry!
So Target has some books on sale a great time to stock up I don't think is all the books though so I hope if you go you can get the books you've been wanting if they have it on sale. A few places have e-readers and tablets on sale, as they always do now since they started being so popular. I'm thinking about getting one, don't know if I can just yet I need to mull it over and think which one I want and if I can spend the money on it, any advice? Oh and if you get e-mails from Barnes&Noble you probably got one saying about what they are doing, they have select books 50% off  how great, and some other deals to, so you might want to check out their website see if its anything is worth it to you.

Oh and I fond out recently that its Chanukah, wow is it early this year. So for those who are Jewish and celebrate it:

Happy Chanukah!

And Everyone have fun, be safe, if your old enough try not to drink to much, lol. And try not to eat to much.

I tried to find some better graphics to make this post more special but I must of been searching under the wrong thing cause all I fond was that.

Cover Love Sunday #8

Cover Love Sunday is a weekly feature hosted at The Quiet Girl Talks, where you choose your 3-5 favorite covers for each weekly theme. Anybody can do it, just check the Features page for themes ahead of time! :)

This week's theme is...
BLACK BACKGROUND!

Slave (Finding Anna, #1)
I haven't read this yet, it an erotica. I like the cover because the stoplight on her, and how she curled up.

Once (Eve, #2)

This one I found today while looking for a cover to share. I love the font of the title. The whole light at the end of the tunnel theme is great. Also love the color of her hair.

Witch & Wizard (Witch & Wizard, #1)The Gift (Witch & Wizard, #2)The Fire (Witch & Wizard, #3)

I like these cover I have a thing for fire blame it on the fact that both my zodiacs elements are a fire. But I love that its the letter of the book title, W for Witch And Wizard, G for Gift, F for Fire. And there's a face in them. I've only read Witch & Wizard so far and really want to get the others. The Latest one that came out doesn't stick to this theme with the cover that's a little upsetting, or atlest I haven't seen it with a fire letter anyway, the latest one is The Kiss.

What are your picks for this week?~

My Little Hiatus

Hey everyone I know I've been away and haven't had a review for you in a while, and I also missed Cover Love Sunday. I was feeling a little under the weather, not being sick but very tired as of late blaming the dog for barking constantly and waking me in the morning and then end up going back to sleep a little later and this pattern is just not working for me. I had planed to have quite a few reviews for you but I've barley read must less wrote a review. I've been watching some shows I've neglected which sadly means I've neglected books. Hopefully I'll have caught up on some books I've been wanting to read and review for you and write a review for a couple of books I've already read. I'm rereading a book I want to share with you hopefully I'll have a review for that soon.

In speaking of shows I've been watching, I know this blog is for books, but I've caught up and a new show Reign and I'm really enjoying it, its about Queen Mary of Scots. If you like Renaissance times, I suggest you give it a shot. If you liked The Tudors you'll like this, you may even recognize a few people.

I had thought I would of been to the library by now, a couple times in fact, I thought I was going to going with someone but didn't happen, I think that's part of the reason I haven't read I was expecting to go to the library and then didn't. I'll tell you this though I recently got a few more books cheap, or at least as cheap as book goes if they aren't bargain, at only $5 each for three of them anyway the 4th one was a little bit more but it was 20% off at Target a book I've been seeing on a few other blogs, it was even in the first round of the Goodreads Choice for best book, however since I didn't read it I didn't vote for it and that is The Darkest Minds, I also saw the second one in that series but it was the hardcover and call me weird but I don't like having a paperback and the hardcover book from the same series, its just I thing I have, also the hardcover book are usually a lot more than paperback, I also don't know how much I would like The Darkest Minds so I'd rather read it before I get the next one.
The others I got at Walmart

The Scarletti Curse (Scarletti Dynasty, #1)
I've been seeing this author what seems like everywhere however most of the books I picked up were part of a series this one is a stand alone
wait what photo: Wait, what? waitwhat.gif

Yes I said stand alone I find stand alone so rarely when I do find them I'm happy, why, because its the only book I need to get, lol. So I want to give this author a shot and see if I like her and then find the first book a I series that she writes.

Here a little info on The Scarletti Curse:
Within the walls of the palazzo belonging to the great Scarletti family, a terrifying secret lies-and every bride who enters is doomed to leave in a casket...
Nicoletta knows all too well the curse that plagues the house of Scarletti. She has always believed her miraculous healing gifts would set her apart and that no man would ever command her. Then she gazes into the dark, mesmerizing eyes of Don Scarletti and she fears for her future—for it is Scarletti's ancient right to select a bride from among his people . . . and he has chosen her.
Compelled by duty, driven by burning, inescapable desire, Nicoletta surrenders to this powerful, hypnotic man, giving her body willingly into his keeping. But will the tormented don be her heart's destiny . . . or her soul's destruction?
I'm thinking there's going to be a little beauty and the beast type thing going on.

My other two books are books I've been seeing around the blogging world they are Poison Princess and Endless Night by Kresley Cole these are the first two books, and only two books at the moment, of The Arcana Chronicles. How many theres going to be I have no idea I do know the third one is going to be coming out in late 2014 and it doesn't have a title yet. These are young adult books though they seem to have an adult theme.

I'm working on a couple other posts as well that I'll have ready between now and the end of the year.

2014 TBR Pile Challenge

We all have those books. We buy them, win them, they're gifted to us.. Then we put them up on a bookshelf and there they stay, collecting dust, waiting for the time when we'll finally decide to pick them up..

So I am signed up for my first Challenge for the next year. Wish I knew about the one for this year I might of signed up cause I read a lot of book I've had and just never got to them this year. Though most of them were before I was blogging. However I still have a lot not to mention I've gotten quite a few books recently as well.
There's going to be giveaway's, mini challenges, all sorts of stuff and ending with a grand prize at the end of the year. You can read books that were published in 2013 and earlier, NO 2014 books or arc. You can sign up and check out their guidelines 2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge

I was also informed that library books will be ok as well and if you get a book that you haven't been able to find during the year that is ok too.

There are levels for the goals I am going to start out low though I'm sure I'll be moving up levels. My goal for now I think is going to be First Kiss that's 21-30 books. I'll be making a page for the list of books I plan on reading soon.

Hope to see you there.~

Cover Love Sunday #7

Cover Love Sunday is a weekly feature hosted at The Quiet Girl Talks, where you choose your 3 (or so;)) favorite covers for each weekly theme. Anybody can do it, just check the Features page for themes ahead of time! :)

This week's theme is...
DRESSES!

I personal can not stand to wear to dress I blame it on when I was born everyone gave my mother a dress for me to wear, and so I simply grew tired of them I guess, I'm much more a jeans and men's t-shirt type of girl, lol. However when I do see a nice dress I do admire it.

A Kiss at Midnight (Fairy Tales, #1)

This I thought was a simple yet very elegant I love the colors the cut of the sleeves, this whole cover just screams Cinderella doesn't, well that because it kind of is with an interesting twist. On my want list.

Burning in Water‏ (The Nerita Torlan Trilogy #1)

I love how it just flows and there's nothing to it sometimes the most prettiest dress are the ones that are just that. I love the background too so mystical.

For my last pick now I know I already share this cover before but I thought this cover deserved to be shared since the dress is in a class of its own, being Water.

Teardrop (Teardrop, #1)

You know what I realized while putting this this together 1) I haven't really read a book that the main feature is a dress go figure. And 2) there really haven't been a lot of book that feature a dress until the last year or two, so that might be why about the first thing. All these book are on my want list.

So what are your picks?~
