Tis The Life

Hey guys, so I know I haven't made a post all week and I hope in the future that I don't go this long with out doing something for you guys. There's been a few things going on here one of which was yesterday when the landlord came over to look at a problem and she urh *eye roll*, well I wont get into it but it wasn't pretty. Needless to say I needed to get out of the house because the last thing you wanna do to this girl when she gets mad is have her stay in an enclosed area. I tried reading while on the bus but ended up just listening to music instead, ended up not reading much yesterday or much of the week.
Other things that is the cause of my no posting/little reading. I think that read-a-thon filled my head with a bunch of words and they just got kajumbled and I needed a day without a book sadly. I often have a one track mind I'm hoping having a blog might actually help with that but it seems not to yet. I've been going through the group I'm in on goodreads and looking at some blogs just trying to learn what I can and try to picture how I want this blog to be, I really need to learn to set a time limit on how much time I want to being spending on goodreads and looking/reading other blogs and such. But not to worry I am going to spend my weekend nose deep in books.

And I was going to save this for tomorrow but...

My blog is a month old!!!!!
I know, I know its only been a month and no I don't plan on being like a little school girl with puppy love saying oh its been 6 weeks, its been 2 months, its been... But I just wanted to say that I've been on for a month and the next time I make a deal as to how long I've been up will either be 6 months or a year, haven't decided yet guess it'll be on how I feel at 6 months :)
This month went by fast I feel like I just started a week ago. So I hope this month to find a meme or two that I'll enjoy doing and I plan on doing quite a few reviews for you, hopefully even find some challenges to do. You'll notice a few changes coming hopefully for the better, but I'll always love for your input. After I post a few more reviews that I have coming, I'm semi working on them while I've been reading other books as well as writing those reviews, I plan on having a page for you to easily find the reviews I have, not just through the blog archive. I hope to also find some graphics to change it up a little. Just hold in there with me.

I wish I could say that while I was out I bought some new books but I just couldn't afford more right now but thats why I have an occasional book haul sadly :( Sometimes I think if your really actively buying books it can probably cost just as much as having a baby, not that I would know, but it sure feels like it sometimes. I also keep on finding romance books or erotic books, like what is with that, ok world I know I'm single right now I don't need it rubbed in my face, lol, especially when it comes to the erotic books, hot and steamy with no one around, thanks.

As always more to come, thanks.~

Bout of Books Wrap-Up

Bout of Books

Wow! This week went by fast. But I did have fun this was my very first read-a-thon and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to be actively participate in it but I guess I put my mind to it and I did my updates I even went around to some blogs throughout the week, some appealed to me some not so much (I am not saying that the ones that didn't were at all bad, they weren't, and its just for me, for my personality and the type of book they read and review that I didn't appeal to them, I just wanted to make clear that I'm not saying any blog was bad or anything). I wish I could of done more mini challenges I think I made myself a little overwhelmed when I did those two challenges on the same day of which you can check them out it was the day 3 challenges I did enjoy doing them though especially the poem one. And I know there was another poem type challenge that I wish I got to. I think this was a good first read-a-thon for me and I think learned what I want or not want to do for the next one I do.
I didn't meet my goal of getting my library books done but I got to 3 of the 4 them. I read and reviewed, of which you can feel free to check out I put the link for them, Chosen by P.C and Kristin Cast and The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg. The third book, Shadows of Myth by Rachel Lee, I didn't finish because yesterday ran a few errands but I did get about half way through and should finish it no later than tomorrow, it kinda has a rocky start and feels like your in the middle of the story instead of the beginning, but I think thats what is was supposed to be like, I'll tell you more when I write my review, which will hopefully be in a few days. And I didn't get to Rush by Maya Banks at all. :(
You want to know how many total pages I read?
  • with Chosen at 307 and there was quite a bit of words on the page
  • The Heist at 295 and the print was a little bigger so there wasn't as much on one page like Chosen
  • and Shadows of Myth I know I didn't finish it but I did get in 131 pages which is almost half and again there is a lot of print on one page as well
That brings the total pages read to 733 I'm sure had I not had a slump on I think it was Thursday and did those errands yesterday I would have all 3 read and possibly even the 4th or at lest started on it. I'm still proud of how much I did though including what wasn't reading.

So now that this read-a-thon is over I need to get to some things that I've been putting off all week, like cleaning up a little, fold and put away my laundry, and starting a new workout. ~

Bout of Books Update #6

Bout of Books

Hey all this week sure has gone fast. so yesterday I didn't get to where I wanted in my book or get a challenge done but I got a review done and I also spent some time surfing a few blogs, of which I have to re-find cause I didn't copy past the link to follow them but itll be easy to find its in my history.

Pages Read: 75, yea I know its very little
Total Pages Read: With the 602 already + 75 = 677
Total Books Read: 2.15

Todays Goals:
Finish book # 3, I know that's kind of a long shot but I'm going to try. Find a those blogs that appealed to me and maybe a few other in the process, and leave a few comment, but not to spend much time doing this.

Partners in cons, schemes and flirting

The Heist (O'Hare and Fox #1)   After seeing it everywhere and deciding I want to read to it I actually saw it at the library, though I don't usually get newer books from the library I like to get older books that you might not see in book stores very much, and took that as a sign that I am meant to read this book and now and I got it from the library.
This was a good book it was an easy read and it flowed very nicely. A great opening to a new series that I already cant wait for the next book. It's funny, witty and flirty, theres action. The Heist, by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg, kinda makes me think of a mix between the shows White Collar and Leverage, two shows I like. I can already see it being made into a tv series after more book come out of course. The characters have good chemistry and I wonder how long the authors are going to dance around the only thing that's inevitably going to happen between them. The dialog I love form everyone.

Kate O'Hare, sarcastic always on the job Special Agent for the FBI who has finally after five years on the chase caught Nick Fox, fast talking, handsome and charming con man. Only he has plans of his own, escapes only to have Kate find him again and she learns that he has made a deal with the FBI to catch the big fish of criminal's, the ones they cant catch in the traditional way and has to bend the law a little. They now have to work together and they actually make a good team, mainly because there both attracted to each other.

This was the first time they'd met face-to-face, outside of the one encounter in the interrogation room, that didn't begin with her pointing a gun at him. They were actually sitting at a table, like two old friends, not like the hunter and the hunted. And it wasn't especially awkward. They were comfortable together, despite the fact that they didn't trust each other or that she'd hit him with a bus. Maybe his scheme would work.

Their first job find and recover an investment banker who embezzled $500 million and fled. Nick and Kate assemble a team of actors, a make-up and special effects artist, a driver, and a set builder to pull off the schemes. Their not your run of the mill team of drifters and robbers, their just common citizens a bit down on their luck or looking for an adventure. The actor of the team takes things over the top. The driver can handle anything, within a few minutes anyway, from cars to boats and planes. the builder can make you think your in another place, with the help of course of the special effects guy. Not forgetting Kate's dad retired Seal operative Jake O'Hare, who brings the occasional back up extraction when needed.

"Ask yourself what kind of man gives his daughter an RPG and what he would do to anyone who hurts her"

To find him they put on an act to get the one person he knows, his lawyer, to fess up on telling them where he is. After he does Kate and Nick along with the driver, Wilma nicknamed Willie, go put off a con to get him to go with them. But they run into some trouble with some pirates, nothing Kate O'Hare cant handle.

Kate and Nick are dancing around flirting with each other this whole book. Kate always has a comeback for anything anyone says, except that is when it comes to Nick. Their dialog together you cant help but laugh. I wouldn't mind reading more of Janet Evanovich.~

Bout of Books Update #5

Bout of Books

Well after my reading slump Thursday and do think I made up for it yesterday by finishing The Heist, which lets fact it I barely started it, and had I read it Thursday I'd would have already been in my next book but it lest I got down another book. I didn't do a challenge I wanted to finish The Heist and it was a easy read meaning there wasn't really a lot on one page as there is in the other books I picked.

Pages Read: 215
Total Pages Read: Chosen 307 + The Heist 295 = 602, wow didn't realize I read that many pages sometimes it doesn't click how long a book is.

Todays Goal:
Well I didn't wake up till late this morning, I want to write my review for The Heist which I hope I can do quickly I really enjoyed it. I hope to get at lest 100 or more in my next book which is going to be Shadows of Myth really excited to get into that one what would be great is if I cant put it down and able to get through half if not the whole book. being that I woke up so late for me and need to do the review and a few other things I don't see me doing one the challenges today though I am going to try I know that there's two today though I don't know what entirely they are yet but hopefully one of them would be kinda easy for me to do, and quickly.

Well I think I've spent enough time on this update now time to do my review.

Bout of Books Update #4

Bout of Books

So yesterday I didn't get hardly any reading done during the day, I was busy doing a few things one of which was writing my review for Chosen, I did get a chance to look at a few blogs as well. So what reading I did do was last night and I didn't get as far as I want to.

Pages Read: 50
Total Pages Read: Chosen 307 + The Heist 80 = 387
Books Completed: 1.25

Todays Goal:
Today I hope to make up for yesterday and get at least 3/4 of the way through The Heist. Want to do a little blog surfing as well. Since I want to make up for yesterdays no reading I don't think I'll be do the challenge for today unless I make my goal early and decide, sure why not.

Undead, Enemies and Trust

I must say this book in the house of night series turned me back around after what Betrayed was. Betrayed had a lot of recapping, in detail, of what happened in the first book Marked. I am happy to say that theres not as much, little recap..good, lot of recap..bad, not bad but you know what I mean. I also hope that it keeps to the light recap for the other books and not be going back and forth with little, lot, little.  Also there was a bit to much babble for me in the last one. If you haven't read Betrayed you should before reading this because as with any series the events follow that which happened in the last book, so there will be a little spoiler for you if you don't know what happened in it. I really did like this one a lot better than I liked the last though there are a few events that I was like "what the mother fuck were you thinking" I got it from the Library and I'm more willing to get this one so I have if I ever want to reread it or forgot something that happened in it. I think I might update my previous post on the series as I do realize its really just a blurb and I wrote it after I wasn't really liking the last book and so didn't really go through many of the characters of which I do like them.

Chosen book 3 of the House Of Night Series, By P.C and Kristin Cast, starts out with Zoey's birthday and first off, I have to say it because I have a cat, but it starts with her talking to her cat, Nala, about how she always gets some kind of Christmas birthday, if any of you have a cat you know what its like we talk to them and sometimes they even respond, I talk to my cat all the time, and I do believe that they own us, I mean Jasmine, my pain in the butt(and I'm the only one allowed to call her that) but she's also my baby, when she wants attention it don't matter what I'm doing she'll climb up on me get in the way of either my laptop or a book or something else, and just lay down or head bud me till I pet her, and that they choose us. I get people who have a birthday close to it often times gets a gift that tries in for a Christmas gift but Christmas themed surely that doesn't happen all the time so I think the gift thing is a bit exaggerated, I mean who puts a x-mas tree on STILETTO BOOTS. So with the arrival of a gift from Heath, human boy she imprinted on and was her boyfriend, along with a card that pretty much everyone else saw and it said how she didn't like Christmas themed gifts, it didn't turn out that great for her. She went to meet up with her grandma, who is really more the mother figure to her, and gets encouraged on how to straighten it out. Ok, this is where that spoiler is if you haven't read Betrayed. On her way back she also goes to find undead Stevie Rae, her best friend and before she died very funny and able to put everyone else in their place as far as their little gang went anyway, whom no one knows about.
"Stevie Rae, it's me. You can turn off the hissing crap. Plus, it's a ridiculous vampyre cliché"
Cliché is right, she's changed, along with the other undead that thankfully we didn't see any of in this they were just mentioned, into the more classic type of vampire that we used to read about, no sun or you burn, no entering a house unless invited, red eyes, nothing much today has that except True Blood. I liked that it mixes the then type of vampyre with the type that series' take of them. Stevie Rae is losing her humanity, which she still has only because of her affinity for earth, but Zoey is determined to save her no matter what it takes.

Bout of Books Update #3

Bout of Books

Hey everyone! Wow I cant believe its already Thursday and we're starting day 4 of the read-a-thon. So yesterday I did both challenges and let me tell ya I was tired after going though my books to make a poem are a TBR even made a mess on my bed. So most of my reading was in the morning for finishing Chosen and only a little time before I came to bed last night. I also started typing up my review, of which I hope to finish today and post it later.

Pages I Read: Last 94 pages of Chosen, first 30 pages of The Heist = 124 Pages
Total Pages Read: Chosen 307 + The Heist 30 = 337
Books Completed: 1

Today Goal:
Well today is going to be a light day for me I need/want to finish the review for Chosen. I woke up not feeling the best, think today my sinuses are going to stay with me all day weather this is a good thing as far as actually getting in a lot of reading, yet to be determined. I'm also going to do a little blog surfing and see how and what everyone is doing leave a few comments maybe find another blog I want to follow. There are 2 challenges today I don't think I'll get to them the way I'm feeling right now and their to much work so I think it just a reading day for me. I do want to try and do at least 2 more challenges this week though if I can.

Bout of Books Day 3 Challenges

So I said I would try and do the challenges for today. Today there are two and I think I can do both.

The First is a TBR challenge hosted by Musings of a Bookshop Girl

Question 1 :Which 5 books are at the top of your TBR pile at this moment?

Answer: Will I try not get give myself so many at one time unless that is I go to library. Cause just cause I want to read it this day doesn't mean that when I finish the one I chose to read before that I'll want to. However I do sometimes say to myself, I want to start this one next so that I can get to the next one in the series, if its a series book which let face it I'm a magnet for series books. So 5 books I want to read next not counting what I'm reading for the read-a-thon.

Daughter of the Blood (The Black Jewels, #1)Heir to the Shadows (The Black Jewels, #2)Well the first one which is the last one I plan on starting cause I know I wont finish it before the read-a-thon is over which is a first book of a series of which I also have the second, and that would be the second one I read.

Then after that

The Elder Gods (The Dreamers, #1)   Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter, #1)   Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1)
and I've been thinking of re-reading Harry Potter lately so I think that has to be on here.

Question 2: If I gave you a wad of cash and sent you into a bookshop right now, which 5 books would you buy to add to the stack?

Answer: Well the first 2 I want cause I cant find them.
Witch (Doppelganger, #2)
Read Warrior and
really want to know
what happens next but
cant find it.
Enslave: Beauty Tames the Beast
This has been on my
to get list for years
but cant find anywhere but online

Providence (Providence, #1)
Read Beautiful Disaster
and Walking Disaster
LOVED THEM!
and want to read more of her books

Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno, #1)

The last one will probably be an impulse buy form the bargain section from a author I don't know yet, or at least a book I didn't know about from an author I do already know. I have so many books on my list that I want its hard to pick which ones I want the most.

Challenge 2 is a Spine Poetry Challenge hosted by Such a Novel Idea

Where it's making a poem with the book spines and taking a picture. This was kinda hard cause none of my book really have titles that go together for a poem that well, I was also trying to get what is currently at the top of my list of all time favorites either Beautiful Disaster or Walking Disaster or both. But I was finally able to mange its not a dozen books like some of them I'm sure but I think it'll due.

Until the Full Moon
into the cold fire
Falling Kingdoms
Crave the becoming
Walking Disaster

~Well thanks for reading took me more time than I thought it would to do these challenges but I had fun with it. Now time to do a few other things and then get to what this read-a-thon is about, reading.~

Bout of Books Upate #2

Bout of Books

Hey! So yesterday(aka day 2 of the read-a-thin) I didn't finish Chosen like I hoped, ended up get a bit distracted with a few things and also had a few shows I had watch (Hello, True Blood for one). I didn't do a mini challenge yesterday.

So Pages I Read Today: 110
Pages Read Total: 215
Number of Books Completed: 0  :(

Todays Goals
So I woke up fairly early this morning, that is for me, and have already jumped into reading, now obviously I had to put it down so I can make my update post, and hopefully I'll be finishing Chosen this morning I have less than a hundred pages but more than 50 to go, so it shouldn't be to hard, And start my next book by later this afternoon. I also plan on doing one or both of the challenges today I've only glanced at what they are so far put I'll take a look at them when I finish Chosen.

I know, I know, I late with this. And at first I really was sure if I would be joining since I'm so new to the blogging world, I was planning on just seeing how everything was run and seeing how everyone did their own thing, well I look at their page and saw a few of the others updates and thought, ohh ok so I only need to see it the one day, haha. This will also be my first read-a-thon.

My goals:  Well I still have books from the library so I want to finish them and incidentally enough they are due back at the end of the week and thats 4 books I also want to get STARTED on a book that I keep picking up and putting back down for whatever reason, and what better way to get to it than a read-a-thon. I'm also going to try and do a few of the mini challenges.

Book:

Chosen (House of Night, #3)    Shadows of Myth    The Heist (O'Hare and Fox #1)    Rush (Breathless, #1)

Daughter of the Blood (The Black Jewels, #1)

So I know I don't get much traffic yet and I don't hope to suddenly get a 100 follows or anything. If nothing else I just hope to meet some other bloggers and have fun. I don't have a tweeter so I wont be doing the tweeter chats but I'm sure I'll find something I'll like join in on.

This is also my Day 1 update Monday I started Chosen I only got about 100 pages in I was hoping to get more in but that'll be for today which I hope to finish it. *crossing finger*
~I hope you enjoy!

Gril with the Dragon Tattoo

Ok, I tried. I really, really tried. I just could not get into this one. But I made a commitment to myself that I would read it. And I finally finished it, and can return it to the library. However just because I had a hard time getting into the book doesn't mean I don't want to see the movie which I can finally do. I had to resort to find a few audiobook chapters on youtube, that was the only way I got through this. I like finding audiobook's whether is to get through a book I cant seem to get into or if its a book a thoroughly enjoyed and want to know what this reaction was supposed to be or how that was supposed to be said. Granted a book will say that someone said something in anger or surprise but it also good to hear it. However I cant just listen to an audiobook I read along with the book.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first half, I felt like this book was all over the place it didn't stick one a firm story line, at the beginning anyway, one moment its Mikael Blomkvist, a journalist and publisher of a magazine Millennium, and ladies man, and some trial that we don't find out what that's about till a little latter on, between him and a company owned by Hans-Erik Wennerstrom for apparent embezzling, I think. Then it goes to Milton Security and Lisbeth Salander, who all in all in a social outcast, but smarter than she lets people on, a hacker and researcher. Back to Blomkvist and getting offered to do an autobiography and to solve cold missing person case by Henrik Vanger, retired CEO of the Vanger Corporation, and the rich guy of the story. And it did a lot of background, now I'm all for having the background of a character, but why so much background on Salander that's pretty much all her part of the story was, and she was in all of maybe 25% of it. I don't want it to seem like I'm slamming this book, I don't do that I'll leave that for publishers and people you write for NYT, though I don't think ANY book should ever get slammed. I did have parts that I enjoyed.

The part of the story that was about Salander, at the beginning I really didn't get, I mean ok, I got that clearly she is very smart, she's different, and she was abused, more than abused even, at a young age. What little dialog she had and her thoughts I liked, thought she was rather sarcastic, and the way she was introduced to the story
"She looked as though she had just emerged from a week-long orgy with a gang of hard rockers."
But what was this part of the story here she had nothing to do with Blomkvist they don't even meet till more than half way through. She had nothing to do with Wennerstrom, though she did start an investigation on the company. And she had no relation to Henrik Vanger or the Vanger family. Being how the book is titled you would think that the girl with a dragon tattoo, aka Lisbeth Salander, she would be a bigger role of the story. At least for three quarters of the book anyways she's merely a supporting role, if that. There were times I was like I thought this girl was supposed to be a strong and never get kicked down women. Then at times that proved just the case and other times not so much. What she did to that pathetic, conniving excuse for a man after he raped her, I was like thank god for doing something, of course I would of liked it better if she at least bit him when he made her, go down on him, or kicked him in the nuts the second time. We women need to fight back when things like that happen not just submit wither you plan on a revenge or not. FIGHT BACK!

The bulk the book focuses on Blomkvist and the Vanger family, obviously he was commissioned to write a family chronicle and try to figure out what happened to Harriet Vanger some thirty years ago. Quite frankly I liked how he was, persuaded if you can call it that I think it needs a more stronger word but for lack of one that's all I have, to agree upon such a outlandish, knows no new answers would be found, assignment, that will take a year of his time. Henrik Vanger told quite a story to Blomkvist which very much intrigued him, me to, and then when he got down to it and told him what he wants to do and how much he was going to pay, Blomkvist still on the fence, he sweetened the pot by saying he has what he needs to take down Wennerstrom, if I would be getting paid as much as he offered, and its a LOT, and a chance to take down someone that really needs to be put away, would you be able to turn it down, I wouldn't.

Coming Up

Hey all, well I know I've been away for a few days I was finding it a little hard to get into this book I'm reading but now I think I'm getting interested. Also I'm trying to find new things to help get out there and keep track of like on goodreads. I was also feeling kinda on the low side for a few days.
So I made a return to the library and granted I did not return everything when I went it didn't stop me from looking around, I mean I cant walk into the library and not look around are you crazy, times when I don't want to look around at the library I use the drive up return which I sometimes do like when I just get a lot and then finish half and decide to renew the rest but I need to return the others, or if I just want to take a break from the library and read what I have.
  What did I get?

I got Chosen book 3 of the House of Night series by P.C & Kristin Cast, I don't usually do this if I buy a book that's the beginning of a series and I like it I continue to buy them not buy this one then get that on form the library and buy the next one, no I don't do that but they keep drawing me in I spotted the 2nd one there and I was I want to know what happens already so I was you know what get it if you like it worth enough to read again then one day get it, don't know if I'll do that unless its on bargain, but I like getting all of them because say I go 2 years with out reading the next one Id like to catch myself back up and refamiliarise myself with the series. But these just keep drawing me in. I want that necklace that's on the cover its simple with the crescent moon and the red beads and its elegant just my taste, moon the moon than the red, blue it more my color. And I promise I'll do more then just a little blurb on this one.

Next I got Shadows of Myth By Rachel Lee, it apparently first came out in 2005. Do I smell a stand alone, possibly? Now if the title isn't enough to tell you this is clearly a fantasy/fairy tale.

The synopsis reads:

Doppelganger

I got this book called Warrior by Marie Brennan a few years ago and not long ago is when I got around to reading it (you'll most like see that with a lot of reviews as most the books I own I've had since my last big book haul). It was originally publish with the title Doppelganger, dont ask me why it got changed I dont know maybe for the sequel to come out, or it changed publishers not sure, yes I did say sequel which is called Witch and sadly I do not have that book, yet, but I really enjoyed Warrior and am looking forward to finding Witch. Since I finished Warrior I have been moderately looking for Witch its to old a book I think to be at Target or Walmart though the few times I've been didnt stop me from looking, and B&N hasnt had it in there store. If I dont find it soon I think I'll be ordering it online. I should of just went with my instinct and got both of them when I got the first one because if memory serves me right they were both there, but alas I didnt because I didnt know if I would like Warrior I should of known that I would like it though, how dump, and its about witches and magic two of my favorite things and just looking at the cover you can see its gotta be about a strong woman.

Its a fantasy adventure. And love the fact that it has not one but two strong heroines. I felt like I was there sometimes and that is the best thing for me if I can feel like I'm in the story and see it, and thats what this book did it took me on an adventure. The story is set in a world where magic rules and worships the different forms of the goddess. It goes between Mirage a bounty hunter and Miryo a witch. Mirage along with year mate, aka class mate, Eclipse, go on a mission to find why and who had a Heart Key, a high rank of witch, was assassinated. Miryo is witch who is just coming to age to do her initiation of get her full power. She finds out that she cant use and control her full power because:
"When a witch is born, a doppelganger is created. For the witch to master her powers, the twin mush be killed. But what happens when the doppelganger survives?"
Miryo now needs to find and kill her doppelganger, Mirage. Only when she finds her she cant do it they make an agreement that they'll try and find a way for the both of them to live.
"So how about this? We promise not to kill each other. Instead, we look for other answers, other ways out of this they may have ignored or missed" She  paused, biting her lip as she watched the other woman's reaction. "And if it looks like time is running out, we'll reconsider."
Mirage and Eclipse still need to find out why a high rank witch was killed along the way they all find out that the reason she was killed is a common link to finding out how to save the life of the doppelganger.

There was action within the first three pages. There was witty dialog ten pages in. Theres adventure, magic, political struggle, challenges and conflicts the characters must face. I'm finding myself rereading some parts so that I can give you a better review other than just telling you what its about and that I enjoyed. However at the same time I don't want to put very many spoilers in here for those who haven't read it. I love the ending and if I tell you it'll spoil it if you haven't read it. It doesn't necessarily end with a cliffhanger but it can definitely be taken into the next book. And though Mirage and Eclipse are like brother and sister, I think I could see Miryo have a liking for Eclipse and though they are the same person I wonder if anything happens in the sequel.

Its got strong characters, both main and supporting, good detail as far as the settings, looks, and events. Often times you'll get inner thoughts of either Mirage or Miryo, combined with the dialog some is witty or funny or threatening, and my favorite as I am often time too, sarcastic.
It had been three years since Mirage visited Silverfire, and a full five since she had lived there, but she still remembered every tree and stone in the lands surrounding the compound.
I bloody well ought to. We spent enough time doing training exercises out here.
Note if you get this book there is a glossary in the back explaining a few terms or who and what  people are or places.

House of Night series

So the House of night series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast I read Marked maybe two months ago and I just read Betrayed so it is a new series for me. One thing I will tell you is it definitely a ya that is more for the older teen like 16 and up into the early 20's even.
I really enjoyed Marked and the over all aspect of this series its a new take on vampyres that its genetics that changes you into a vampyre, and 16 year old Zoey is one of those who gets Marked by the goddess Nyx, who is a vampyre night goddess, and so begins the change of becoming a vampyre. Zoey, as it turn out, isn't going through the change quite like the other fledglings in the House of Night school. It seems to have sped up and she is already experiencing things that happen once your matured. She get to be friends and make a few enemies when such a colorful group of characters and school isn't school without a queen B. The vampyres seem more like a witch community they have special rituals to honor their goddess and that what I like about it and what I mean by its a different take on vampyres.
In Betrayed things have turned the tables some people she couldn't trust have shown a side of them that is different and warns Zoey of things and a person she thought was good isn't I'm interested in finding out where that goes and why. Theres also a love triangle, or square however you want to look at it, going on between Zoey, her human ex, and her now boyfriend and someone she thinks is hott.
The series is told though Zoey and sometimes her babble gets on my nerves, she cares for him she likes him oh but she thinks he was flirting with her, babble. Also in Betrayed the first few chapters it went over a lot of things and repeated what happened in the first book, I hope this isn't a continuing thing. through out the series.
I hope I can read this full series and get through all the books because I thoroughly enjoy the aspect of it and the characters are colorful and funny theres some mature situations. But that being said sometimes being in Zoey's head is hard to get though, for me, like I said its definitely for the mature teen early 20's group

The occasional book run and TBR

So more to keep me on track of actually putting posts I'm going to try and do TBR's once maybe twice a month and I'll let you know when I've made a library run or bought new books. I have sign on to goodreads just haven't figured out how to I can put goodreads on here, yet I might mess with that today yesterday I was messing around with how everything looks and all the add ons some I get, some I don't. I know this is going to be a learn along the way type of deal and hopefully I'll know all the ins and out eventually.
So I have actually gotten new books within the last few weeks, lately I've been reading up a storm which got me to start looking for some new books again, aswell as get the next book that are in a series, because my other books that I need to read are in fact going down, finally, though I do still have quite a few I need to get to and I most diffidently will.. But I want some new also I get hooked on one type of click and I just buy a lot like it such as witches, magical, vampires(real big on those), paranormal anything really. So I mainly want a change in subject which is how I spotted Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster, posted my review yesterday on those really a good read, and so I've been browsing whenever I'm somewhere that has books, Walmart (though some Walmarts don't even have half an aisle anymore, I know people have ereaders now but they should still have at least kids books and some book for the people you don't have an ereader, what the heck is up with that) usually has good prices too their cheaper than they would be at B&N like to look at the bargain section there, Costco always has a table piled with books though sometime it half kids book and cook books but theres still several different piles of ya and adult, Target I always look at their 20% off titles they too sometimes offer books cheaper than at a book store. I cant forget to mention the library, hello they are free books and sometime youll find an older book there that the stores wont have anymore. I don't know how some many people can spend 100+ each month I know I cant do it not even every couple months once in a while yea sure maybe and also spread it out like I did I bout a couple books here a book there another book there at different times different places, in all, including BD and WD that I bought in late June, the books Ive gotten recently probably did run up to about $50-$60 but that's 5 book at around $10 each, yea its expensive all the Harry Potter books alone probably cost at least $120, thankfully that was spread out over the course of 8 to 10 years.
Soo on to the books. I got Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and it hardback but a hardback that 10 bucks or less is rare, I like the cove its dark and mysterious its got a white clocked figure and some kind or bird on it. The inside flap, aka the synopsis
Each ruler of three kingdoms are grappling for power, the lives of their subjects are brutally transformed...and four key player, royals and rebels alike, find their fates forever intertwined.
Theres more on it but I wont get into it now but that just seems really interesting and cant wait to read it, I was so hopeful that this was a stand alone book and come to find out its not, great yet another series I'm gonna have to buy and thankfully I'm not to far behind on it either I think the second book just come out or is about to come out I'm not sure.

The Beautiful Walking Disaster

So lets start with a newer book that I bought recently actually its 2 books they are Beautiful Disaster and Walking disaster by Jamie McGuire. Now first off let me say they are companion books they are the same story by different points of view but dont let that make you think they are going to be the same its not, there are a few things that happen in one but not the other and vise versa. Also I noticed a couple timeline mishaps but just get past it. So let me tell you what attracted me to these books at first I actually saw Walking Disaster first which is the companion, i.e second book, the cover and the title caught my eye on an end shelf at target I mean you see a cover with a nice toned muscular tattooed bicep and chest and a title of Walking Disaster how is a girl to resist, also they had it for 20% off yay, so I read the back, which I'll stat below when I get to talking about it and it seemed real interesting and I get the last line saying, "Every story has two sides. In beautiful disaster, Abby had her say. Now its time to see the story through Travis's eyes." So I'm standing there looking for this other book at the end shelf dont find and I'm like well crap. I dont know bout any of you but I cant pick up a book that in a series if its not the first one and thats how I get into trouble to. Anyway I'm dragging this I know and I've probably gotten your sites up to high already I did find Beautiful Disaster(clearly), also for 20% off double yay, and get them they both seemed interesting.

So staring with Beautiful Disaster when I got home and started reading it I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I was even up through the night reading, I havent had a book like that in a long time. I've already read it and re-read I dont know how many times anymore. I didnt want to leave this amazing love story, it also made me sad that I dont have a love story like that. Its told though the eyes of Abby Abernathy who is a freshmen in college who meets the "University's Walking One-Night Stand" tattooed every girls must have bad boy, complete with a motorcycle (that's important cant be a bad boy with out a motorcycle), Travis Maddox. At first she wants nothing to do with him, she knows he's trouble right off and tells him start up that she's not that type of girl.

I kept my voice low. "I'm not sleeping with you. You should give up now."

However with that out of the way they soon become friends. Travis earns his money by fighting underground at the college, one of his fights he and Abby make a bet.

"If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she mush live in Travis's apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match."

Welcome

Hey everyone, so this is my first time blogging and I've been procrastinating all over the place about it from what website to use, to how am I going to it, to what I'm going to name it. I'm not even going to try and pretend to know what I'm doing, and am still trying to figure somethings out but I hope it'll be something I'll enjoy like I think it will, and I hope it'll be something a lot of you enjoy. So I'm gonna try and give you some good book reviews would love to take your recommendations. I look forward to this journey and hope it'll go a long way.
